NRT-Tonnetz

A Tonnetz (German for Audio network) is a web-like diagram used to show the relationships between chords in Neo-Reimannian Theory.

An example of a Tonnetz is shown below. The Tonnetz includes only major and minor triads. The major and minor triads are arranged in triangles that connect by sides containing the two common tones between the chords.

Notice how the Tonnetz is composed:

Each line across consists of notes rising in perfect 5ths.

Each diagonal line consists of notes rising in minor 3rds.

And each triangle forms either a major or minor triad.
Note that there are no diminished or augmented triads or seventh chords in the Tonnetz.
